LUCIA MENDEZ BAYO
Lucia Mendez Bayo is a multi-talented musician, opera singer, and pianist, with a diverse range of skills and experiences in the arts and education. Her passion for music and commitment to sharing her knowledge and talent have shaped her impressive career.
Lucia's educational journey began at Instituto La Salle in Reus, Spain, where she attained a Humanistic Level - A. She then pursued her passion for music, accomplishing Grade 6 in piano studies at the Conservatori de Música Professional de Vila-seca. In 2015, she completed her Professional Graduate of Music in vocal studies at the same institution. Alongside her music studies, Lucia pursued her interest in history, earning a Bachelor's Degree in History from Universitat Rovira i Virgili de Tarragona in 2014. Continuing her pursuit of musical excellence, she went on to complete her Undergraduate of BMus Voice at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya and is currently pursuing a Master's degree of Mmus in Voice and performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
Lucia has gained extensive work experience in various roles within the music industry and education. She has worked as a Voice and Piano teacher at Lea Valley Academy and Workbox Music in London, United Kingdom, providing instruction to students in GCAC and private settings. At Vicente Cañada Blanch School, she taught piano, voice, and musical theatre, nurturing the artistic development of young talents. Lucia also worked as an Artist/Music Therapist Health Carer at Custos Care, where she utilized her artistic skills to enhance the well-being of individuals.
In addition to her teaching roles, Lucia has showcased her talents as a vocalist, participating in the soundtrack of "Influenza," directed by Edoardo Forato. She has also conducted private online voice lessons, ensuring students receive personalized instruction and guidance. Furthermore, Lucia's passion for music extends beyond teaching, as she has served as a Choir Conductor, Choreographer, and Social Worker with organizations like Ajuda en acción & Siete estrellas, working with children from 6 to 12 years old.
Throughout her career, Lucia has received numerous accolades and recognition for her outstanding musical abilities. She earned a Mention of Honour and Prize of Honour in the Singer category at Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya. Her talent and dedication were also acknowledged with scholarships from La Fundación Victoria de los Ángeles, Barcelona. Lucia's accomplishments extend to her involvement in chamber music, opera scenes, and her final project on femininity in opera, which earned her mentions of honour and prizes at Conservatori de Vila-seca and Universitat Rovira i Virgili, respectively.
